  • Charles “Chuck” R Zierke, age 89, of Hot Springs Village AR, died Saturday,  December 19,2015.  A funeral mass to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13th, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village. Chuck was born February 27, 1926 in Fairmont, MN. Chuck served in the Merchant Marines and then attended Law School at the University of MN. He returned to Fairmont to practice law at what is now the firm of Erickson, Zierke,

    Kuderer & Madsen.  He was a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and served as Fairmont City Attorney. He retired from practicing law and relocated to Hot Springs Village where he met and married Retus Hedgepath.  Together they were an active couple in “The Village”, volunteering and enjoying  the company of many friends.  They were active members of their parish and were instrumental in starting the Hot Springs Village Razorback Club and raising funds for the University of Arkansas. Chuck was an officer on the board of the local Boys and Girls Club and helped to establish this local chapter. Throughout his life Chuck enjoyed travel, sporting events and especially playing golf. He is survived by his children Bill Zierke of State College, PA, Sue Johnson of Eden Prairie, MN, stepchildren Steve Hedgepath of Germantown, TN, Beverly Vaden of Cookeville, TN and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, “Doc” and Marie Zierke and his sister, Jean Johnston.
